Controllers For Combined Temperature And Relative Humidity 

Humidity control can be achieved by monitoring the level of Relative Humidity (RH). This is normally measured using a combined probe which can sense temperature and RH%. The process of humidification or dehumidification can be used to increase or decrease the amount of water present. The controller itself also known as a Humidistat - can automatically adjust the amount of moisture in the air to maintain a specific humidity level. 

How Do You Increase The Humidity Level?

Humidity can be increased by forcing dry air across a moist pad. This type of simple fan control can be installed quickly and controlled via thermostat. A valve connected to a steam generator is another method of adding humidity to a process.

Within the controller the relay output for humidity would be triggered when the measured RH drops below the setpoint. 

How Do You Decrease The Humidity Level? 

Basic fan or valve control can be implemented to exhaust moist air and draw in clean dry air. More advanced systems can use condensation cycles to cool the air and gather the water present.

The controller in this scenario would trigger the relay output for humidity when the measured RH is above the setpoint.
